What makes you dread local hookups?
There are many reasons why some guys are fearful of local hookups. This is because, first and foremost, a lot of guys are simply afraid of women. I really can’t blame them. I mean, women are from Venus after all and men are from Mars.
I know that sounds corny but there’s a lot of truth to that. We are wired differently, we have different biological drives, we definitely have different social makeups and social constructions regarding our group identities, and there are cultural implications as well. So if you look at all these different delineations and divisions, then it should not come as a surprise that there’s a fundamental difference between men and women, and among individual men.
Given all these differences, there’s a tremendous amount of opportunity for misconceptions, miscommunications, and fear. This is why a lot of guys would rather dispense with all that bullshit and only deal with women a certain way.
Since there’s a lot of randomness regarding local hookups, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why a large chunk of dudes are simply apprehensive about hooking up locally. This really is too bad because a lot of that fear is actually an excuse.
Let’s face it, a lot of the things that give you a tremendous amount of anxiety and really freak you out, those are just excuses because you don’t want to get to the bottom of an issue. Maybe you had an issue with your upbringing, maybe your parents weren’t around, or maybe you did not get the kind of emotional support and nurture that you feel you deserve. All these issues come back to haunt you and they take the form of certain fears.
The best favor you could ever do for yourself is to look your fears straight in the eye, deconstruct it, and blow it up. You would then realize that these fears are holding you back from the kind of life you are otherwise capable of enjoying. This is why you need to get over your fear of local hookups.
It has nothing to do with your self-esteem or self-confidence. It has nothing to do with your value as a person. In fact, the more you confront your fears, the more valuable you are both as a partner and as a human being in general. You might want to get on that road starting today.
